Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set aside 1 Tablespoon butter. Spread remaining butter on cut sides of rolls. Saute onion in set aside butter in skillet until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add dry mustard and mix well. Layer ham, cheese slice and some of onion mixture on bottom half of each roll. Replace roll tops and wrap in foil. Place on baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
