In large saucepan, combine milk and sugar. Heat over medium low heat, stirring frequently, 10 minutes. Add chocolate, and cook, stirring frequently, until chocolate is melted. Stir in cherry liqueur and syrup. Reduce heat to low, and keep warm. Garnish with maraschine cherries, if desired.
