     Roast Chicken

Ingredients
1 whole young chicken, giblets removed
1 lemon, sliced into rings
white wine
basil
oregano
bay leaves
1 bulb garlic cloves, peeled
butter
salt
 
pepper

Instructions
Rinse chicken, place in crockpot. Place a few slices of lemon and cloves of garlic inside the bird. Place remaining slices of lemon and cloves scattered around bird (inside armpit, etc.). Sprinkle bird with basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Pour white wine (about 1.5 cups) onto bird. Cook on low 6 hours, until fully cooked (internal temp 190 degrees). Remove bird from crock pot when cooked, you can make gravy from the sauce in the crock pot if you like. (Just pour into small saucepan, heat on high and add flour while whisking, till desired thickness is reached.
Serving Suggestions
serve with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
