     Cookies-Hershey's Perfect Chocolate Chip

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour-I used whole wheat
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup graulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz pkg) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1. heat oven to 375 degrees 2. stir together dry ingredients, set aside 3. beat butter,sugars and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until creamy 4. Add eggs and beat well 5. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well 6. stir in chocolate chips and nuts 7. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet (I used a tablespoon instead-less servings but bigger cookie) 7. bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown 8. cool slightly(2 minutes on sheet) then transfer to wire cooling rack until completely cool 9. store in containers
Alternative- Pan recipe- Spread batter into greased 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 by 1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely, cut into bars. Makes about 4 dozen bars depending on how you cut them.-)
