Mix sugar, oleo or butter and milk in sauce pan.
Bring to a boil for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add oatmeal, vanilla, cocoa and nutmeat(optional).
Mix well.
Drop by tablespoon onto wax paper until set.
Store in airtight container.
