2/3 cup shortening

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

2 tsp vanilla

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup nuts, optional

1 small pkg chocolate chips

2 cups flour, sifted

1 tsp salt

Instructions |

|
|
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
|
|
|
|
Cream together shortening, sugars and vanilla until smooth.
Add eggs, nuts and chocolate chips; mix well.
Add flour, salt and baking soda; mix well.
|

Drop by tablespoon onto non-greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
