Mix all ingredients for dough- Jiffy, egg, milk, vanilla, almond, sugar. If soft, add flour. On a very lightly floured surface, roll dough into rectangle until dough is no more than 1/4 inch thick.
Spread the melted butter on top of dough.
Mix all filling ingredients- dates, raisins, brown sugar, flour, nuts, cherries. Spread on dough. Starting at long edge of rectangle, roll dough like a jelly roll. Press dough to seal.
Place on cookie sheet and shape like the letter C.
Slit dough every two inches and open up slits slightly.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
When cool, frost with light icing and decorate with nuts or jimmies, if desired.
