     Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1 scant cup shortening
1/2 cup hot water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup nuts
1 egg
3 cups flour
flavoring and chocolate chips
 
Instructions
Mix and drop on cookie sheet Bake at 375 or 400 degrees 12- 15 minutes Grandma K used for chocolate chip cookies
