In large bowl, stir sugars, butter, vanilla and egg until well blended.
Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. (dough will be stiff)
Stir in chocolate chips.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches part on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown(centers will be soft).
Cool slightly on cookie sheet;
Remove to cooling racks; Cool completely.
Store in airtight container.
