Mash the garlic and 1/8 t salt in a bowl to form a paste. Cream the butter, garlic paste, parsley and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let stand, covered, for 1 hour. Spread each pita half with some of the butter mixture. Arrange in a single layer on baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees on the highest oven rack for 5-8 minutes or until light brown and crisp. You may prepare Crispy Toasted Pita Chips a day in advance and store in ziplock, or prepare up to 2 weeks in advance and freeze. Thaw for several hours before using.
