Coarsely chop 1 1/2 cup candies, reserve remaining whole candy for decor.
Stir together flour, soda & salt. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients gradually add chopped candies & nuts. Drop batter by tsp on sheet.
Bake 6-7 min. Remove from oven -decor cookies. Return to oven & bake 3-5 min longer or until light brown. Remove from baking sheets- cool.
