     Apple Raisin French Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce

16 oz loaf dry French bread, torn into bite size pieces
1-1 1/2 c chopped peeled baking apples, such as rome beauty or golden delicious
1 c raisins
4 eggs, beaten
4 c milk
2 c sugar
1 T vanilla extract
Rum Sauce (recipe in cookbook)

Combien the bread, apples and raisins in a large mixing bowl and toss to mix. Beat the eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Pour over the bread mixture. let stand for 15-20 minutes or until the mixture is absorbed, stirring occasionally. Spoon into a greased 8x12 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in hte center comes out clean. Serve warm with Rum Sauce or vanilla ice cream.
