Prepare Rainbow Dust(look up other recipe). Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat 2 cups sugar, butter, coconut, and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer on med speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfulls and place about 3in apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press bottom of glass into dough to grease, then dip into rainbow dust. Press on shaped dough to flatten slightly. Bake 8-10 min or edges are golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. cool completely.
