     Blackberry Cobbler

Ingredients
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Boiling Water
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon or 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
1 Tbs Cornstarch
1 Tbs Butter/Margarine
2 Cups Fruit
Soft Dough-
1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/4 Cup Shortening
 
1 Tbs Sugar
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Milk

Instructions
Mix sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Gadually stir in 1 cup boiling water. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 min. Add prepared fruit and juice and pour into a 10x6x2in baking dish or 1 1/2qt casserole dish. Dot with 1 Tbs butter and sprinkle with cinnamon/nutmeg.
Make soft dough by sifting together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend in shortening until mix esembles cornmeal. Stir in milk to make a soft dough. Drop spoonfuls over hot fruit filling. Bake in hot oven(400 degrees) for about 30 min. Serve in bowls with cobbler juice and cream. Makes about 6 servings.
