Preheat oven to 350. Grease 13X9 dish. Melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and saute. Add garlic, cook 2 minutes longer. Stir in flour and cook until absorbed. Slowly add milk and 2 cups of cheese. Combine chicken, sour cream and noodles into cheese mixture. Mix well.
Pour into baking dish and top with remaining cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbling.
