     Mom's Favorite Dark Fruit Cake

Ingredients
l lb. margarine
l lb. dark brown sugar
5 eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
 
1/2 cup fruit juice or brandy
1/2 cup dark molasses
1 lb. dates
1 lb. chopped candied fruit
1/2 lb raisins
1/2lb.candied cherries
1/2 lb. whole nuts
l cup flour ( toss with fruits)

Instructions
Beat till creamy - margarine and sugar. Add and beat the eggs. Sift and combine dry ingredients and add alternately with juice and molasses. Fold in thoroughly remainder of ingrdients. Spoon into greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 275 degrees until tester comes out clean. (about 1 1/2 hours).
Remove to a cool area. Keep covered with wax paper for several weeks. Baste with Brandy every other day.
