Prepare syrup by mixing all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil.
Reduce to low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Prepare filling by chopping nuts and mixing with sugar and
cinnamon. Set aside.

Pastry-
work butter and sugar together until a crumble is formed, then
add all other ingredients. Mix until dough is pliable.

|
Roll out a small amount of dough (about the size of 2 walnuts)
Put 1-2 tsp of filling on the dough.
Fold over and seal edges (shape of a half moon).
Bake at 350 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Remove from oven and dip each cookie in syrup.
Place on a wire rack to dry.
