     Rice Pudding

Ingredients
1 cup medium grain rice
1 cup sugar
1 quart water
1 quart milk
1 tsp vanilla
salt
optional- Cinnamon, Raisins
 

Instructions
Place all ingredients except for the anilla in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce to low heat. Stir constantly until thick. When almost done, add vanilla.
Pour into custard dishes or a large casserole.
Chill until set.
Dolores and I call this the 1-1-1-1-1 recipe. I have another version that lists the ingredients as 2-2-2-2-2. Which one do you think mom used? -) When I make a lebanese dinner for guests, I serve this dessert in martini glasses with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. It's always a winner. One of Dad's favorites! - Barbara
