Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs. Sift remaining ingredients together and stir into previous mixture.
Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll each ball in mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned but still soft. Note: cookies puff up first, then faltten out.
Note: It is preferable to under bake these cookies than to overbake.
