Heat oven to 325*. Put cookie sheet (with sides) in oven until toffee is ready. On high heat-add butter and sugar, stirring constantly with wooden spoon until soft crack. Reduce heat, stirring constantly until hard crack (light brown). Spoon onto warm cookie sheet, spread thin. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Leave set until soft and then spread. Add crushed pecans-press in. Chill 1 hour.
