Ingredients
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups molasses
1 cup - 2 T. hot water
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
 
2 eggs

Instructions
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour 12 x 9 inch pan.
Beat all ingredients with an electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed 3 minutes, scaping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
