Filling
Cut up meat into cubes
Add other ingredients and boil in large pan until meat falls apart
Refrigerate overnight and skim off fat.
Crust
Cut shortening into dry ingredients
Add milk and mix
Roll out into 3 large bottom crusts and line pie plates
Fill with meat mixture
Fold edges of pastry over filling
Bake at 350F for 45 minutes
Joan and Doug often make this with Christine to have on Christmas Eve-a traditional Acadian
and Maritime treat.
