     Flaky, Buttery Pie Crust

Ingredients
2 2/3 flour
12 tbl (1.5 sticks) unsalted butter
4 tbl shortening (lard or crisco)
1 tsp salt
1/3 to 1/2 c ice water
 

Instructions
Mix flour with salt. Cut in butter and then shortening until dough starts to come together. Add water until you can form two balls. Form into a round disk and refrigerate at least 1/2 hour. Flour a flat surface and roll out to fit pie plate.
