1 large minced onion
|

1 minced glove of garlic
|
|
1 Cup green split peas
|
|
6 Cups Water
|
|
1 tsp cumin ground
|
|
1 tsp celery salt
|
|
1/4 tsp black pepper
|

1 shredded carrot
|
|
2 tbsp chopped parsley
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
In a large pot saute onions and garlic in oil until softened. Add peas, water, cumin, celery salt and pepper. Cover and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, leave covered and let simmer for 60 to 90 minutes until peas are tender.
|
|
|
Add carrots and parsley, let cook another 15 minutes. Add salt to taste.
