Preheat oven to 400. In a medium sized bowl, mix togetherthe mutton, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Place in 9-inch pie plate and pat with fingers to line the bottom and sides, like a pie crust.
Refrigerate until well chilled. In a medium sized bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, cream, and eggs, mixing well. Spoon mixture into the prepared meat shell, dot with butter, and dust with nutmeg. Bake 45 minutes.
