     Dulce De Lites

Ingredients
2 egg whites, warmed to room temperature
1/4 t cream of tartar
4 T powdered sugar
1/2 t imitation vanilla extract (real vanilla equals 12 more calories)
1 box Dulce de Leche Girl Scout cookies (about 24 cookies)
caramel sauce (ice cream topping)
 

Instructions
Beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar and beat on high until stiff (1-2 min). Add powdered sugar 1 T at a time. Add vanilla. Place each cookie in the center of a mini cupcake paper liner. Top with approximately 1 T of the meringue. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min or until tops are brown. Remove from oven and drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
NOTE- if you have meringue left over it is good dropped by spoonfulls on a lightly greased cokie sheet or on top of graham crackers.
