     Freestyle Apple pie

Ingredients
2 sheets short crust ready rolled pastry
1/2 cup caster surger ( less if desired)
1/2 teasoon cinnamon
4 small cored, peeled and thinly sliced apples
1 teaspoon lemon juice ( if wanted)
Crumb Topping
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup brown surger, packed down
 
1/3 cup margarine
1/2 cup of chopped nuts

Instructions
Prepare the crumb topping by placing flour and surger into a bowl and rubbing in or using the balloon whisk blend in the margarine to resemle breadcrumbs. Add the nuts at the end of this process. Set crumb mixture aside while prparing the apples
core, peel, halve and then quarter apples and thinly slice In a bowl combine brown surger, cinnamon,lemon juice and add apples-toss/shake gently to cover apples in this mixture Line a flat baking tray with baking paper Place a pastry sheet on the baking paper. Spoon apple mixture into the middle of the pastry, leaving 5cm arounbd edge of pastry. Sprinkle crumb topping over apples Fold up the edge of the pastry into the centre, pinching at about every 5cm interval, until all the pastry is folded in making a case for the pie. Bake for 20-25 minutes until apples are tender and pastry is golden brown. Serve with custard and ice cream.
