     scalloped potatoe gratin

Ingredients
2 pounds potatoes
1 cup cheese
1/2 cup grated parmation plus more for broiling
3 bay leaves
2 coped garlic cloves
2 sprigs fresh thyme plus more to finish
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
salt and freshly ground black pepper
unsalted butter
 

Instructions
1.preeheat the oven to 400 degrees 2. heat up the cream with the bay leaves thyme garlic nutmeg and some salt and pepper 3. while the cream is heating up butter a casserole dish use a slotted spoon to remove the bay leaves and thyme. 4. pour the heated cream into a large bowl with potato slices. 5.mix gently to coat the potatoes. 6. dust the parmision over the potatoes. 7. season the mix with a little salt and pepper. 8. mix to gently incorporate. 9. spoon a little of cream into the bottom of the casserole dish. 10. then spoon the potatoes in. 11. level the potatoes for uniform cooking time 12. pour the remaining cream at the bottom of the bowl on the top. 13. top with some parmision and fresh thyme leaves. 14. cover the dish with aluminum foil but pull back one corner for the steam to escape. 15. bake for 40 minutes
