     Prune Bread

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter/margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
 
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup prunes - cooked and diced
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 tsp baking soda

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream margarine and sugar together til light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, soda, and spices together. Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk to mixture. Fold in cooked prunes and nuts. Grease 2 loaf pans and divide batter between pans. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool before turning out.
