1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 60 mini (1 3/4-inch) muffin cups with paper baking cups.
2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups.
3) Bake 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.

4) Add food colring to frosting, a few drops at a time, until desired shade is reached.
5) Create faces at one side of each cupcake using chocolate chips for eyes and candy wafers for noses.

5) Working with one at a time, unwrap candy squares and microwave on low for 5 to 10 seconds or until softened. Press candy between hands or on waxed paper to flatten to 1/8-inch thickness. Using scissors or paring knife, cut out triangles for ears; fold over top corner of each triangle. Arrange ears on cupcakes.

7) Cut 1/8-inch strips, 1 to 2 inches long, from flattened candies. Shape candy strips into spirals for tails; place candies in freezer for 10 minutes to set. Place tails on cupcakes.
