Ingredients
1 package (about 18 oz.) dark chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 to 4 tablespoons milk, divided
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Brown and yellow food coloring
Black and orange decorating gels
 

Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 24 standard (2 1/2-inch) muffin cups with paper baking cups. 2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups.
3) Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
4) Beat powdered sugar, butter, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla in large bowl at low speed until blended. Beat at high speed until light and fluffy, adding additional milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until desired spreading consistancy is reached. Add food coloring, a few drops at a time, until desired shade is reached.
5) Frost cupcakes; pipe spots all over tops of cupcakes using black decorating gel for outline and orange decorating gel in centers.
