     Whoopie Pie Cupcakes

Ingredients
1 package (about 18 oz.) dark chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
plus ingredients to prepare mix
1/4 cup shortening
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon salt
 
Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 24 standard (2 1/2-inch) muffin cups.
2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups.
3) Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
4) Beat butter and shortening in large bowl at medium speed until well blended. Add powdered sugar, cream and salt; beat at low speed for 1 minute. Beat at medium-high speed for 2 minutes or until fluffy. 5) Slice tops off cupcakes. Spread filling over bottoms of cupcakes; replace tops.
