3 cans 28 oz Cento crushed tomatoes (fresh tomatoes may be used as well)
5 fresh garlic cloves (med - lg) minced
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
6-8 large fresh basil leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
Pinch of organic sugar
Pinch of dried oregano
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Italian seasonings
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in crock pot.
--Add Italian sausage or partially cooked meatballs (recipe found in Main Entrée section of this cookbook.
Cook on low all day in crock-pot or stovetop on slow simmer. Stir occasionally from the bottom.
