Make the filling the day before and let set overnight in the refrigerator. Reserve 1/2 cup of the filling and mix with 12 oz of Cool Whip for frosting. Bake cake mix according to directions on the box in two layer cake pans. Split each layer so you end up with 4 cake layers. For ease of serving a large pan works better and you only have to split the cake one time to have two layers. Fill three layers with filling, frost with Cool whip that has been blended with filling. (sometimes filling is runny so about 1/4 cup of powdered sugar needs to be added to filling.)
