     Salted Almond Brittle

Ingredients
2 C. whole branched almonds
1 C. sugar
4 T. margarine/butter
1 t. vanilla
salt
 

Instructions
Heat almonds, sugar, and butter in heavy skillet over medium high heat. Stir until the sugar is golden brown and melted. the almonds will start to make a popping sound (approx. 15 minutes.)Stir in vanilla and spread on aluminum foil. sprinkle with salt while hot. cool and break into bit-size pieces.
