Depends on how oniony you like things. my mom adds almost a
cup because she loves onion, I added 1/2 cup in the batch I made
for boating.
Slice celery, olives and onion and place in medium bowl or
Tupperware. Pour olive oil and red wine vinegar over vegetables.
Sprinkle seasoning over the top and mix well using spatula or
spoon.
Like I said earlier I like to make it in a Tupperware and store
overnight to make it more flavorful. It stays fresh in the fridge for
about 3 days.
Our family likes to put the Muffaletta on tough baguette bread,
with salami, ham, turkey and provolone. Usually we will make it a
couple of hours before enjoying and wrap in saran to let the flavor
really soak in, but it's fine to put directly on a sandwich the you
plan to eat at home.
Last thing, sometimes when my mom and I are watching our carbs
we will just wrap a piece of turkey, ham or salami up with some
cheese and have the muffaletta in the middle.
