Sift together flour with baking powder and salt.
Combine well sugar, egg, butter and vanilla.
Gradually stir in flour mixture until well mixed.
Stir in 3/4 cups of the pecans. Press evenly into
a well greased 8 inch square baking pan. Top with
remaining pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30
minutes or until edges are lightly browned and top
springs back when lightly touched in center. Cool
in pan. Cut into 2 inch squares and serve.
