1. Heat oil in pan. Add onion, seasoned with salt and pepper, saute until soft (10 mins). Add garlic and saute 1 min. Add chili powder and cumin and saute for 1 more min
2. Add drained beans, water, and broth. Bring to a boil then lower heat and simmer for 15 mins. Scoop 1/2 of the soup into blender and blend until smooth. Add blended soup back to the pot. Cook until ready to serve!
3. Cook 1 cup brown rice with 2 cups water. Boil water, add rice. Cook until rice is fluffy and most of the water is absorbed. Drsin any excess water!
