mix peanut butter, butter, and sugar with hands to form smooth stiff dough. shape into balls place on wax papered pan and refigerate.
melt shortening and chocolate in top of double boiler over simmering water. when mix is smooth remove balls from refigerator. insert toothpick into each ball and dip into chocolate.
