     Au Gratin Potatoes

Ingredients
1 c. milk
3/4 c. heavy cream
1 minced garlic clove
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground white pepper
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 lbs. peeled russet potatoes cut into 1/4 in. thick slices
1 1/4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (5 oz.)
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400. Lightly spray 2 quart casserole with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large saucepan combine milk, cream, garlic,and spices. Add potatoes to saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat to low. Simmer 10 min. Meanwhile toss cheese with flour. Set aside.
Layer 1/2 the potatoes in casserole dish. Sprinkle 1/2 the cheese mixture over potatoes. Add remaining potatoes and pour milk mixture over top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese mixture.
Bake covered for 40 min. Remove cover and bake another 15 min. or until browned and bubbly. Let rest 10 min. before serving.
