     Sweet and Moist Cornbread

Ingredients
1 cube butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk
 

Instructions
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and cornmeal. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add 1/3 at a time to other ingredients with a spoon.
Grease and lightly flour an 8x8 baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for about 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with butter, honeybutter or jam. Or just plain - it's that good!
