Sift flour with cocoa and salt. Set aside. Mix
dates with boiling H20, baking soda. Set aside
Cream butter with shortening. Add sugar and beat
until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
Add reserved flour mixture and cooled date mixture
alternating. Blending well after each addition.
Add vanilla.
