     CORN BREAD

Ingredients
1 c. milk
1 egg
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) stick margarine or butter, melted
1 1/4 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbs. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
 

Instructions
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease or Pam spray a 8 x 8 inch or 9 x 9 inch square pan. Beat the milk, margarine and egg in a large bowl with a fork or wire whisk until well mixed. Stir in the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt all at once just until the flour is moistened. The batter will be lumpy. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm.
