     JANE’S GOLDEN SKILLET CORNBREAD

Ingredients
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour
¼ c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 egg
¼ c. vegetable shortening
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Melt the shortening in a cast iron skillet and then use as baking pan. Mix the ingredients and pour them into the skillet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
