Boil vinegar and sugar 15 minutes. Add pickling spices tied up in cheesecloth bag. Boil for a few minutes. Quarter pears. Place in vinegar and boil until clear. Drain off vinegar and put pears in jars. Reheat vinegar and pour in jars to cover pears. Seal while hot.
