     Hot Rolls

Ingredients
3 pkgs dry yeast (not rapid rise)
2 cups warm water
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 tblsp salt
2 cups sifted flour
1/3 cup vegetable oil or 1/2 cup shortening
More flour to knead (4 to 6 cups)
 

Instructions
Mix dry ingredients and water to let stand 20 minutes; then add oil or melted shortening. Add enough flour to work firm. Grease big bowl and top of dough with shortening; cover with towel and let rise in warm place until over top of bowl. Then knock down and make rolls. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes until brown. Butter tops.
Refrigerate left over dough. May be rolled out in hot dog shaped pieces and fried; then roll in granulated or powdered sugar for a treat.
