1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and
consomme until smooth. Add mushrooms, wocestshire
sauce and basil and set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, mix egg, bread crumbs, onion
and salt and pepper. Add hamburger and mix well.
Shape into 6-8 oval patties and brown on both sides
in a skillet.
3. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Place patties in a 9
by 13 inch pan and pour gravy mixture over. Bake
until cooked through and no longer pink, around 30
minutes.
4. Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles.
