2Tb butter

1lb ground beef

1/2 of a small white or yellow onion, diced

1/2 of a green bell pepper, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced
|
|
3/4c ketchup
|
|
1/2c water
|

1/2Tb brown sugar
|
|
1ts chili powder
|
|

1/2ts dry mustard
|
|
1/4ts red pepper flakes
|
|
2 squirts of Worcestershire
|
|
1Tb tomato paste
|
|
2 squirts Tabasco
|
|
Salt to taste
|

Ground black pepper to taste
|

Hamburger or brioche buns
|

Instructions |
|
|
Add 1Tb of butter to large skillet over medium high
heat. Let butter melt and then add ground beef.
Cook until brown. Drain and discard fat.

Add the remaining butter, onions, green pepper and
garlic. Cook for a few minutes until vegetables
begin to get soft.
|
|
|
Add remaining ingredients. Stir to combine and
simmer for 15 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning
as needed.
|
|
|
Toast hamburger or brioche buns. Spoon mixture over
buns, top with cheese and sliced pickles (optional)
and serve.
