     French Toast Cassrole

Ingredients
10 oz Long Thin French or Italian Bread no seeds
4 tsp sugar
8 eggs large
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups milk
1 tbs vanilla extract
2 tbs butter cut in small pieces
13 x 9 x 2 pan greased or buttered
Bake 350
 

Instructions
Cut bread into inch thick pieces and arrange in one layer in pan. In large bowl beat eggs and remaining ingredients except butter. When mixed pour over bread in pan. Cover with foil and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours. Dot with butter, bake at 350 for 45 to 50 min until bread is puffy and lightly browned. Let stand 5 min before serving. Serve with syrup, honey, yogurt or sour cream.
