     Oven Beef Stew

Ingredients
2 pounds stew beef, cubed
6 - 8 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 cups green beans
4 large carrots, sliced
2 cups peas
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 quart tomato juice
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
 
seasoned croutons

Instructions
Combine all ingredients except the croutons in a 4 quart baking pan. Mix well. Cover with lid and bake at 250 degrees for 7 to 8 hours. Slow cooking at a low temperature will make the stew meat very tender. Top each serving with seasoned croutons.
